Liability Insurance

It was advised that I look up liability insurance for myself to cover for anything that happens out on a shoot for other people etc.

What does public liability insurance cover?

Public liability insurance is important for your business because it will pay out in the event that a mistake is made which causes an injury to a member of the public or customer, or which damages their property.

Incidents where customers slip or trip over are among the most common accidents which can result in public liability insurance claims.  For example, if a spill on a shop floor isn’t marked sufficiently with a warning sign, and a customer slips and becomes injured as a result, they may claim for compensation.  Public liability insurance covers this cost for a business.

Harry Vinnicombe

Been working really close with a local upcoming star in Exeter. His names Harry Vinnicombe and he's a wiz on the microphone and with his guitar. I've been able to be work with him close enough to be able to get photography commissions from him.
I was commissioned to photograph him for his up coming show at the Barnfield in Exeter. He wanted an artistic approach and with a washed out look. He loved the photo which is always a bonus, and went on to be blown up and A3 size and was shown all over Exeter to advertise him.

Cinematographer

Decided to have a good browse around at cinematography/ DoP and came across a few links I found interesting.
Found this quote quite interesting and I guess it sums up the job perfectly well.

What does a cinematographer do?
My job is to help the director realise what's in his head.
The cinematographer creates a consistent look for the film and makes images that help tell the story. It's what's in the frame, the lighting, getting the mood right - getting images that push the story along and keeps the audience inside, not outside, the film.

And came across this website that is a forum advertising for creative jobs, only problem is the majority of them are all american, but I guess if the perfect one popped up I would jump at it!

Client

Recently been working close with a client, doing photographs for posters and flyer to advertise him at gigs. Recently just done a photoshoot for him for his album cover and portrait sessions. I've also secured a place with him to do a documentary series of photographs of him developing the album and some gig photos. The photos will hopefully appear in the inlet of the album.
As I'm interested in being a Cinematographer, DoP (Director of photography) for films/videos, anything moving image based I've agreed to do a debut music video for Harry as well, which is in the making at the moment.

SWDubs Annual Meet

Late January is that time of year again that the people of the south west join together to show their pride and joy. The groups come along way since it was first created easily over 8years ago. The annual meet first started last year, so this was the second ever event and what a turn out! We had easily over 100 cars turn up from all over the south west.

Anyways, check out the pictures at : -

Weddings

Don't know if its the time of year or something, but weddings seem to be the key subject of conversation recently. Firstly I got asked by Jane (ND/WBL photographer teacher) to help out and model for the ND photographers for a staged wedding. Which funnily enough turned out to be quite an amusing day at Mt. Edgcumbe house. Got to talk to most of the ND students and they all seemed to have mixed views on what they planned to do after they finished their course. Hardly anyone planned to stay on in education after they had finished their ND which surprised me.
My Dad and his girlfriend are getting married at the end of May, so we've been going around wedding shops trying on outfits, which was extremely amusing as I love to dress up. Top hat and tails, YES :D
My friend Simon is having his wedding in September and has asked me to be the photographer.
Finally my old manager has asked me to help him out and be a second photographer at a wedding he has got planned in August.
Like said previously, weddings seriously are not my forte but I'm more than happy to help out friends and family.
