Tim Wallace Interview BBC Radio

BBC Radio Interview

After Tim Wallace won the 'International Advertising Photographer of the Year 2010' award, BBC radio did an interview with Tim about following your heart within photography and making things happen. I found the interview inspirational and moving that coming from one extreme to the next and making sure you keep getting back up on your feet and keep trying and trying until you get to the place you want to be.

Yesterday was the day of the annually big South West Dubs meet. South West Dubs is a website/forum built up from a group of friends back in 2005 after all having a passion for Volkswagen cars. As a moderator on the forum I get to help with problems and keep the website safe. We contacted Golf+ (Volkswagen Magazine) if they'd be interested in a feature for us from the meet, we got an E-mail back saying they will leave us a 2 page spread in the magazine as long as we provided the pictures.
The meet took place at Exeter services at 11.30 and then a cruise down to Exmouth beach where everyone parked up again in the maer car park. The meet attracts people from as far down as Cornwall and as far up as Bournemouth, Bristol. The weather held out for us for the day and in return was able to capture some good shots.

Unfortunately Tim Wallace wasn't able to take me on for some work experience or to shadow him whilst he worked but he did agree to an interview which I will be conducting soon. I plan to do the interview over the phone as email and letter's are long winded and I can't go meet him in person as he lives up north.
Tim Wallace is an International photographer specialising in cars and auto-mobiles. His work can been seen in car brochers such as, Jaguar, Land Rover, Morgan, Aston Martin, Porsche, BMW, Ford etc.  To interview Tim will help me out a lot in my quest to get into this line of work and to understand how he got to where he is now.

Logo

Logo Final
Logo Testers
After finishing my business card, model release form and other related developments I decided I needed a Logo for myself. I wanted to go for a simple 'CQ' logo and incorporate the two letters together. I decided I wanted to use the 'copy write' logo as a starting point and develop my ideas from there. The logo with the 'C' inside the 'Q', although looking quite cool and slick felt like that the 'Q' was the initial letter and therefore I decided against it for the main reason it would confuse people. I decided to reverse this and use the 'C' as the bigger and outside letter, but I felt like this looked slightly armature and sloppy. I then decided to play with the letters and joining them together. After messing around with a few different fonts it just wasn't fitting correctly and decided to lift the 'C' a little so you could fully understand the two letters. I tilted the 'C' back and forth but decided that the two letters together straight with the 'C' slightly higher than the 'Q' worked well and decided to keep this. The logo now has been put on all my model release forms, website etc.
